Most times, people’s motive of going to church is because of what they can get from God and not what they can give God or the act of knowing him better, not realizing that the secret to Great Success is seeking to know God without attaching personal benefits.
Matthew 6:33 “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and every other things shall be added unto you.
Whenever a ,man desires to know God or the reason for his worship becomes loving God, Testimony, Miracle, Honour Exploit and strange manifestation becomes a daily occurrence. Let us look at the man David, his love for God triggered the drive to fight Goliath because he believed Goliath insulted God; 1 Sam 17:26, “And David Spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth thephilistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the Living God?
The fight led to his announcement which later delivered the throne into his hand, it is to be noted that the throne was not David’s motive for fighting Goliath but Instead his love for God. So also, Preachers in the vine yard today, most often
than not preach because climbing the podium makes them feel good or causes people to respect them or on the other hand somehow brings money into their pocket, rather than in the bid to obey God’s commandment of loving their neighbor or spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to save the lost soul which should be the paramount motive for Christians. John15:16-17, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, He may give it to you. These things I command you, that ye love one another.
This is the reason why ministries do not last long or some visions-are short lived simply because their motives are wrong. Whenever a man’s motive aligns with God’s love plan, both towards Himself and towards mankind, the impossible becomes possible.
1 Cor. 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.
Friends, why don’t we ask for the help of the Spirit to get our motives aright in the journey of life? JESUS MUST BE FAMOUS.
